Noise DosimetersNoise Dosimeters quantify
the noise dose experienced by a worker(s) in excess of a specified threshold
level. These measurements are used to demonstrate compliance with OSHA or
MSHA worker protection regulations, and to establish work areas or tasks
that
require
workers to use hearing protection - typically ear plugs
or ear muffs. The modern noise dosimeters digitally record raw sound
pressure
measurements
which
are then processed by the instrument to display on a real time basis
the current dBa reading as well as the accumulated dose and time weighted
average.
The raw noise data are downloaded to PCs for record keeping and further analysis. |
